i keep having this weird bug where sometimes my buildings become unresponsive and i cannot move them. they just have a phantom outline of where they used to be, and the building never 'snaps' to anything else. they just reappear where they were before no matter where i move them unless i destroy them- leading me to accidentally softlock myself after i destroyed my only mine when this happened, lol. aside from that, this game is excellent and I love it to bits!

i did not expect this game was this good!

i would pay for this!

(also, i played the whole game thinking i can't sell buildings...)

great design

i swear my second playthough has about the same  population in the first 5 months as i did end game whats with the sudden growth

Very Fun!

wish i could mass sell cause half my area is wind

The combo Geothermal + Wind Turbine + Solar Wire is a bit too OP, it's like infinite energy.

Tried without caring for deaths

good one. looks like frvr's from facebook but have an end. i like sci-fi btw

I would like to see Adjacency bonuses be a thing from the very start, and be based on how many sides are touching. Maybe a 1-4% production bump per building that is touching the other building. When I realized it doesn't matter if they touch at all, I was pretty disappointed. I feel like not encouraging tight placement from the very beginning is basically taking that "tetromino" shape and wasting its potential, but meh, it was still pretty fun for a while. I still don't feel super compelled to finish as I don't feel like I am doing much other than placing the pieces in the correct order to get the stats to go up. If there was some way to demonstrate mastery through placement mattering (especially during the super long tutorial) I would keep playing.

is possible!

How is 0 deaths achieved?

(+1)

make sure every month you have no negatives, or if so make sure you have the surplus.  makes the game slower but zero deaths

This game is great! Here's the best I could do... damn three deaths.

I can't imagine how 80 is possible... and I can't dedicate any more of this day to finding out. A leaderboard and timer would be a great addition!

(+1)

hive cityHive city lol

Super fun game! Feel like I did great for a first run, and curious how to get 80 months. Last 15 months or so was me waiting on research, so that's probably how I could do better. 10/10, would recommend!

(+1)

its so good i feel overpowered because of this 1 photo

I didn't think Allied Mastercomputer was possible... i think you tried to get there???

Yeah, it needs some dedication. Makes you think about unmentioned objectives of AIs. A bit like ChatGPT saying "A yes, sorry now that you mention it, of course it is like that"

Sus

Managed to beat the game with zero casualties but got the worst rating of Hal 9000 (highly notorious homicidal AI) for taking way too long
lol

Great game! The freeplay mode is really fun and makes space and planning more valuable. I wish there was a sandbox mode where you could fully optimize everything without worrying about colonist deaths.

i beat the game

i might need more water

i might need more water generators but i dont have space should i remove my farms (i dont need food or oxygen) or do i not get more water generators

(+3)

Same vibes

btw you should buy upgrades to unlock better food- and water-generating buildings. The Filtration upgrade unlocks the Water Recycler, which has higher water production per grid space

ok but what should i replace for more food

spend less (space) on wells

amazing idea why didn't i think of that

(1 edit)

are there more colonists at the start? I’ve beaten this game ~10 times (its very fun!), but today I can’t get past month ~15 without colonists dying – I can’t get enough metal to buy a second oxygenerator. maybe I’m just not thinking and doing something dumb, or maybe the recent update changed something? this spike of +13 colonists seems suspiciously high

that leads to this:

yeah, i've been having this issue too. my first run went super smoothly but my second run had way too many colonists and now i cant make any progress. idk what happened

(+1)

it seems based on your amount of stockpiled resources – I was able to eventually get past it by keeping my water and food reserves low

Finally figured out a good way to optimize the basic mines!

Just to ditch them later, the other ones are so much more efficient and less awkward to place. I think it would actually be funnier that some other pieces were difficult to place, but it's all very balanced, I love that there is consistency between the different types of buildings, oxigen are Zs, water Cs, farms 6s . Great game!!

I can tell this could be a great game.  However, there are just too many bug when I run it.

As the picture show below,

1. I should have 5 well, but one of them just dispear when I place it next to the city center.

2. The well on the left top always locked at the selected stage. Makes it non-interactable.

3. No matter how I move, rotate, or flip the mine, it go back to where I initialize it.

How do you guys get the < 80 months ranking without deaths??? I've played so many times and my best is 91 but I know that others have somehow gotten <80

just dont let the colonists die its that simple

fun!

(1 edit)

Yeah, that ending was about what I figured from the "your goal is cryogenics" thing. The way you put it gave me a good laugh. Fun game! I like optimizing blocks like that. Have you played Chime Sharp?

Super fun game!
Is there a way to save progress? I accidentally refreshed my page and lost 40 minutes of progress last night :(
Can't wait to see what your next update brings!

We're working on it! Hopefully we'll have that in the next update!

It saves my progress now, you have to press next month though

(+1)(-1)

Exciting concept! I tried restarting the game after the tutorial since I thought I had blown my resources on buildings (the mine seemed rather expensive), but turns out that's part of the tutorial.

Felt a bit disappointed by the higher tier buildings - expansion of the play space and passive techs seemed much more useful, so I just sort of ended up beelining Cryogenics. Water and electricity buildings also seemed a bit spammy to build. Regardless, I enjoyed finishing the game and am curious to see where you intend to go with this!

Love this game! Worrying about block placement and resource management at the same time is very satisfying. We'd love to license it on our site--it's just the kind of wholesome and nutritious game we look for. If you're interested in non-exclusive licensing, drop us an email at games@coolmath.com. Hope to hear from you soon!

Great game, great ending. I loved playing it, it was really fun to arrange all the little blocks into their right spots :)

It only took me 185 months with 0 death

(1 edit) (+1)

82 months 0 deaths - it's pretty easy after getting the observatory, i didnt bother unlocking alot of the research tree

Edit: 76 months 0 deaths!

I unlocked all of the research tree cause ocd lol

I like how at a few points new technologies let you totally redesign your board. I ended up with mine mostly empty and even spent a few rounds just tweaking aesthetics. The final board size upgrade seems largely unnecessary unless there are going to be even bigger buildings in the future.

Overall I wish there were more building interactions. Solar panels get better when they touch at least one other solar panel, and farms grow more when they touch a water source. I think you could break the water synergy down into tech unlocks for each water source or farm type, and that could make the tree a little smoother, especially towards the late game when you can unlock a 400 science node every turn or two, with only two observatories. Having synergies for windmills could make them worth building, I built four. You could even have synergies that reduce costs instead of increase products, like putting windmills next to oxygen buildings reduces power consumption, or something.

For a hard mode, you could have building conflicts, like putting a mine next to a water source is bad somehow or contiguous water sources are less effective “because the water table is getting depleted” or something.

I did have a performance issue just before I unlocked the geothermal power, where I had so many solar blocks that picking up, and more so placing every building would take upwards of a second, and if I tried to pick up another building too fast, it would grab the last building again even though the cursor was far away. This went away when I was able to reduce my building count.

Easily 10/10

(-1)

Really? I got like 3 400 science nodes per turn!

Anyone here manage to win with 0 deaths? Because I did

My 2nd attempt win is 0 death in 77 months

nice

How am I supposed to buy farms, if the button stops lighting up?

Wait until next month when you have more metal.  The button stops lighting up when you can't afford it.

really like the game ! it's really really cool and enjoyable

the only problem i see in the game is that once you buy the Observatory the game became really really straight forward maybe adding more tree upgrade/more block if you plan to improve/continue the dev !

(+1)

Hi there! This was quite fun. I finished in under 100 turns, and developed every technology (but didn't use most of the advanced buildings). Btw, since the "buy" button is grey is kinda looks like something you wouldn't be able to click on.

It took me much longer--167 months--but I think that might be because you were right to not use the advanced buildings.  I kept trying to buy them, but they seem to cost more in resources used than they really provide, and I ended up having to destroy them again and rebuild them much later.  (A level-two farm produces something like twice as much food as a first-level farm, but uses up way more than twice as much water, plus it uses energy, IIRC.)  Still, all in all it was fun.

(+1)

This was fun but at some point the game becomes extremely easy to win.

well, then the fun becomes designing the city. But yeah, I think this game could use some more story, natural catastrophes etc

I filled up my city and made it to month 214 and 2017 colonists! the city is symmetrical, but i cant place the screen shot.
